Bill Serena, MSPT.

Center Manager

Bringing more than 20 years of outpatient orthopedic physical therapy and management experience to the city of Trussville, Bill is excited to embark on this new adventure with Radius Physical Therapy. He brings a hands-on treatment approach to his patient care that values an effective and efficient environment and fosters supportive patient relationships. Throughout his career, he has helped professional athletes return to sport, assisted older individuals in maintaining their independence, and designed many other individualized treatment plans and pathways to recovery.

Bill graduated from the University of Mobile’s School of Physical Therapy in 1999, and soon began his career in Oneonta, Alabama, treating patients in both an outpatient and home health setting. From 2000 to 2003, Bill partnered with Joyner Sportsmedicine Institute and opened a clinic in central Pennsylvania. During this time, he treated high school, college, and professional athletes, and built a talented team of fellow professionals, which laid the foundation for his return to Birmingham in 2003. His growing love for the Trussville area and a desire to be closer to family encouraged this transition back down south. After a few years, he rejoined a team of therapists and professional colleagues at a new and growing location in Pennsylvania. Drayer Physical Therapy Institute continued to expand into the state of Alabama, which laid the groundwork for bringing Bill’s experience and leadership back to the Trussville area in 2017. For the past 4 years, he has been building relationships with local physicians, extenders, and patients in the Trussville area.

“I am excited to continue providing my experience, quality of care and availability to the city of Trussville and surrounding area with Radius Physical Therapy. I believe that, as a calling, physical therapists are provided the unique opportunity to meet people in some of the most physically, mentally, and spiritually challenging times of their lives. I take the responsibility of caring for people during these challenging times very seriously and strive to provide hope along with recovery after injury, illness, and surgery."

Bill and his wife, Debbie, have 6 children, ranging from 13 to 22 years old. From teaching Sunday school at First Baptist Church, to educating his patients at Radius Physical Therapy, Bill desires to continue reaching this community in a way that provides hope and healing for people’s lives.
